Platte's Plateau
Plateaus are sculpted by geologic forces that lift them up and the wind and rain that wear them down into mesas, buttes, and canyons. Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon, both icons of the American Southwest, were chiseled from the Colorado Plateau. At Platte's, you will discover more of this beauty in the 300 foot tall structures.

Pete's Pond
This natural reservoir is a great spot for families and picnics. Bring your friends here for a gorgeous view and maybe even a swim!

Franny's Forest
The largest forest in the park, Franny's has plenty to see. Walk one of the trails, and just see what you can find! Some of the forest trails are longer and more tedious than others, so plan accordingly. However, these trails are the most rewarding, with a waterfall and a few other points of interest!

Live Weather Update

An expansive weekend storm system looks increasingly likely to ignite severe weather and heavy rain in the South while laying down another blanket of snow across a broad swath of the Plains and Midwest as we transition from November to December.
After pushing into California on Thursday, a potent jet stream disturbance will move through the southern Rockies and pivot into the southern Plains by Friday, prompting an area of low pressure to develop in the Plains.
